Veterans Day Parade in New York City 2025: A Day to Honor Heroes

On November 11, 2025, New York City will host its annual Veterans Day Parade, one of the biggest celebrations of its kind in the United States. This beloved event brings thousands of people to Fifth Avenue in Manhattan to honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. military.

The parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m., starting at 26th Street and marching north to 48th Street. Expect to see over 20,000 participants, including veterans from all eras, active-duty service members, marching bands, and colorful floats. More than 150 vehicles will roll through the streets, adding to the festive and patriotic vibe. The United War Veterans Council, which organizes the event, makes sure it’s a heartfelt tribute every year.

Before the parade begins, a special wreath-laying ceremony happens at 10:55 a.m. in Madison Square Park at the Eternal Light Flagstaff. It’s a quiet moment to remember and give thanks. Then, the energy picks up as the parade takes over Fifth Avenue, with crowds cheering and waving flags.
This year’s parade will be the 106th in NYC’s history, a tradition that started back in 1919 after World War I. Whether you’re there in person or watching from home, it’s a great way to say “thank you” to veterans. You can catch it live on WABC-TV or online through Military.com if you can’t make it to Manhattan.

So, mark your calendar for November 11, 2025! It’s a day full of pride, gratitude, and community spirit in the heart of New York City.
