South Street Seaport Shops

Where to Go Shopping at the Seaport

south street seaport shops
The South Street Seaport is a historic neighborhood in the southeast corner of the Financial District, bordered by the East River and Two Bridges.

Is the South Street Seaport a nice area to visit?

It’s a great place to soak in the atmosphere, have a drink or a meal, and talk a walk along the water. Lots of tourist boats also depart from the pier, as well as hop-on/hop off bus tours. Good for tourists or locals. There’s no other area in NYC quite like this one.

Which subway goes to South Street Seaport?

By subway: Take the A, C, 2, 3, J, Z, 4, or 5 train to Fulton Street. By bus: Take the M-15 SBS or M-15 to Fulton Street. By water: The NYC Ferry, and New York Waterway provide service to Pier 11.

While you’re taking in the tall ships or just grabbing a bite to eat, make sure not to miss the great shopping available at the Seaport, too. Such as…

McNally Jackson Books

The Seaport location of the local independent chain is a feast for the eyes as well as the brain. It’s got a cozy, handsome design through its expansive store, with exposed brick, archways, chairs for reading its huge selection, plus a cafe. Read more about the store and its events here. (4 Fulton Street)

Fulton Stall Market

The outdoor-indoor market specializes in local produce and packaged goods with a “farm to fork” lunch counter too. It carries on the tradition of the Seaport’s original public markets, offering CSA pickups and other ways to support local farmers and makers. Read more about the market and its history here. (91 South Street)

Scotch & Soda

A clothing store that celebrates “the free spirit of Amsterdam,” Scotch & Soda has selections for men, women and children. It offers versatile pieces with “surprising” details. (18 Fulton Street)

Mure and Grand

Find jewelry, blouses, graphic hoodies, hair accessories, sunglasses and more at this local boutique (photo above) with a curated seasonal collection and unique handmade items. (16 Fulton Street)

Christian Benner Custom

Christian Benner offers designs inspired by the DIY fashion of the punk scene in the late ’70s and early ’80s, offering studded leather jackets, band tees and custom pieces. (189 Front Street)

Pasanella & Son Vintners

The wine shop for the Seaport offers more than 500 varietals and curated selections, located in an 1839 storefront that was once a longshoremen’s bar, a fish market and also a brothel. (115 South Street)

The mall at South Street Seaport includes an eclectic range of stores and shops, selling items ranging from stationery to clothing.
