The Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show is one of New York City’s most famous holiday spectacles. Each holiday season, the historic Saks Fifth Avenue flagship across from Rockefeller Center can transform its facade into a dazzling display of lights synchronized with festive music.

However, for the 2026–27 holiday season, Saks Fifth Avenue has not yet officially announced dates for a new edition of the light show.

The most recent confirmed edition took place in 2025, when the iconic show returned after a one-year hiatus. The 2025 show debuted on November 24, 2025, and continued through the holiday season into early January 2026.

One of Fifth Avenue’s holiday traditions

For years, the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show has been one of Midtown Manhattan’s most popular holiday attractions.

The Saks flagship sits directly across from Rockefeller Center, making its illuminated facade an especially spectacular sight when viewed alongside the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.

In 2025, Saks introduced a reimagined, state-of-the-art version of the show as part of its “Holiday Your Way” campaign. The production combined lighting, visual effects, music, and fireworks during the opening celebration.

Saks Holiday Light Show 2026: Dates

The 2026 edition has not yet been officially confirmed.

For that reason, we recommend checking this page again before your trip to New York City to see whether Saks announces a new season of the show.

If the light show returns in 2026, it would likely once again be part of Fifth Avenue’s holiday season between late November and early January. However, dates and showtimes should not be considered official until Saks announces them.

Is the Saks Light Show free?

Yes. When it takes place, the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show is free and open to the public.

You don’t need a ticket to watch the show from Fifth Avenue or other public areas around Rockefeller Center.

When does the light show usually take place?

The 2025 edition debuted on November 24 and ran nightly, approximately every 10 minutes between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. throughout the holiday season.

However, these times refer specifically to the 2025 edition and should not be treated as the official 2026 schedule.

Tips for seeing the Saks Light Show

Arrive early. If the show returns in 2026, the best viewing areas are likely to become crowded quickly.

Combine it with Rockefeller Center. Saks is perfectly located for seeing the Christmas Tree, visiting the ice rink, and continuing along Fifth Avenue.

Expect crowds. This part of Midtown Manhattan can become extremely busy on December evenings.

Try different viewpoints. In addition to Fifth Avenue, areas around Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral can offer different perspectives of the illuminated facade.

Check the dates before you go. This is particularly important for 2026 because Saks has not yet officially announced a new edition.

Will the Saks Light Show return in 2026?

For now, it has not been confirmed.

After canceling the show in 2024, Saks surprised visitors by bringing it back in 2025 with a completely reimagined production. The return was presented as a revival of one of Fifth Avenue’s best-known holiday traditions.

For now, we recommend keeping the event on your New York City holiday radar, but marking the 2026 dates as TBA until Saks releases official information.
