Patrick’s Cathedral is an active church. There is never a fee for admission or required time slot for entry. As an active religious institution, there are no tour companies allowed inside St. Patrick’s or docent tours.

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is beautiful. Being able to listen to the recorded tours was extremely helpful at gaining a better understanding of the history of the Cathedral. The architecture and stain glass windows are amazing! Beautiful Cathedral steeped in history!

It’s renowned for its titanic bronze doors, gorgeous high altar, and rich Neo-Gothic architecture, including thousands of stained glass windows. From a historical perspective, it’s the final resting place of some of New York’s most legendary humanitarians and clergymen.
Is there a dress code for St Patrick’s Cathedral, NYC?
Patrick’s Cathedral is happy to welcome visitors, there is a dress code of sorts. This isn’t Buckingham Palace, but you probably don’t want to show up looking like you rolled out of bed after a particularly raucous St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Think respectful attire.
