Greenwich Village Halloween Parade is on
OCTOBER 31, 2026 at 7 p.m.
Halloween Season is a perfect time to visit NYC and the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade 2026 (the 53rd Annual), one of the largest and most creative public celebrations in the U.S., also known as “The Greatest Event on Earth”.
The Village Halloween Parade features thousands of costumed participants, dancers, artists, circus performers, dozens of floats with live bands, hundreds of giant puppets, more than 50 bands of different types of music, and thousands of New Yorkers in self-created costumes.
Only those in costume are welcome to join… the nation’s most wildly creative public participatory event in the greatest city in the world!
Costumed marchers can join the lineup at 6th Avenue and Canal Street between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (enter from the east or south). The parade starts at 7 p.m. and runs until approximately 11 p.m., going north on Sixth Avenue from Canal Street to 15th Street. This year’s theme is Body & Soul, with Joey Arias as Grand Marshal. It is also broadcast live on Spectrum News NY1 starting at 8 p.m.
Before you head out to some of the best Halloween parties in NYC, you must participate in (or watch) the Village Halloween Parade—NYC’s spookiest and most iconic procession.
Where can I watch the Village Halloween Parade in NYC?
Just because you’re not wearing a costume this year doesn’t mean you don’t get to party. Get to Sixth Avenue early and grab a lookout spot before the parade rolls out at 7 p.m. Sixth Avenue becomes most congested with spectators between Bleecker and 14th Streets, so we suggest setting up camp either near the start (Spring to West Houston Streets) or toward the end (14th Street to 15th Street).
