What is Museum Mile?
Museum Mile is a stretch of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan lined with many of New York City’s major museums and cultural institutions. The City of New York officially designated 5th avenue from 82nd to 105th street as “Museum Mile”. It is one of the city’s densest clusters of art and history museums, making it a popular area for sightseeing and cultural walks.
The Museum Mile Festival 2026 in Manhattan is hosting their annual event in June. Since its first launch in 1978, thousands of tourists from around the country and the world made their way to New York City for this yearly tradition.
Why Museum Mile 2026
Museum Mile 2026 will be celebrating its yearly festival at the cluster of museums on Fifth Avenue, with free admission to participating institutions during special evening hours. Visitors can walk the closed-off avenue, enter several museums in one night, and enjoy outdoor performances and family activities along the route
