No Pants Subway Ride 2016

The 15th Annual No Pants Subway Ride took place last Sunday, January 10 in New York City. No matter the weather (which is around 30 degrees in Manhattan), these intrepid subway riders will still go pantsless in the name of comedy.

Riders participated all over the world from Tokyo to Jerusalem. The Moscow ride drew attention from local police who stated they were “searching for the organizers.”

The event, the first organized in New York in 2002, is an annual flash mob and occurs in different cities around the world, according to its organisers (Improve Everywhere).

The mission started as a small prank with seven guys and has grown into an international celebration of silliness, with dozens of cities around the world participating each year.

The idea behind No Pants is simple: Random passengers board a subway car at separate stops in the middle of winter without pants. The participants behave as if they do not know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.
