The 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held in New York City on Thursday, November 28.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off the holidays, a Thanksgiving institution, each year, top marching bands of all varieties from across the country are invited to represent their states in the annual parade.

This amazing and iconic spectacle of celebrities, Broadway performers, enormous balloon creatures and the first Santa of the season can be witnessed in person on this year’s new parade route, which will have more street space for viewers than past routes. The parade begins at 77th Street and Central Park West and proceeds south. The route sends the parade east on Central Park South, then down Seventh Avenue, where it will then turn east on 42nd Street and finally continue south on Sixth Avenue, ending at the Macy’s store on 34th Street and Seventh Avenue.

The parade starts at 9 a.m., but people start lining up along the parade route by 7 a.m., keep in mind that prime locations will be fully staked out early on.
